Seminar - Entrepreneurship: Become your own Boss

The Student Startup Business Center (SSBC), CUI Wah Campus organized a seminar on “Entrepreneurship: Become your own Boss“ on November 8th, 2021. On the behalf of SSBC, Ms. Farah Riaz, Lecturer (Department of Management Sciences) welcomed the Guest Speaker and appreciated the efforts of SSBC in supporting and motivating students towards initiating their own startup ventures.

The Guest Speaker, Mr. Hisham Sarwar (Founder Being Guru & Infomist) shared his experience of starting his own different startups. Mr. Sarwar discussed why he established the online platform where students can enhance their skills and at the same time get an idea of starting their own ventures. Mr. Sarwar discussed in detail the idea generation process, and the challenges that he faced in establishing his own startups. Mr. Hisham Sarwar motivated the students towards starting their own entrepreneurial ventures and pointed out the importance of online platforms in initiating the new startups. He also stressed the importance of overcoming and learning from failures.

On the request of Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan (Focal Person SSBC Wah Campus), Mr. Sarwar himself conducted the Q/A session. This is another way of engaging students and learning from their views. Most of the students share the difficulties they face in generating new ideas and working in teams. A large number of students participated in the seminar and are excited to share their views with the speaker.

Mr. Sarwar appreciated the efforts of SSBC by quoting that “very small number of institutions is providing this incubation related opportunities to their students, and the students must utilized this opportunity”. The speaker ended his talk by encouraging the students to start working on their ideas, establish their own businesses and help in developing the Country.

Ms. Javeria Umbreen (Department of Computer Sciences) and Ms. Farah Riaz (Department of Management Sciences) presented the bouquet and COMSATS shield as a souvenir to the respected guests.

Ms. Farah Riaz (on behalf of Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan) in her closing remarks thanked the guest speaker and appreciated the SSBC efforts in organizing this seminar. The SSBC’s team hoped that this series of seminars will help students in stimulating new ideas and increased their motivation in initiating their own startups.
