    Seminar - Entrepreneurship: Freelancing Success Stories

    The Student Startup Business Centre (SSBC), CUI Wah Campus organized a seminar on "Entrepreneurship: Freelancing Success Stories" on December 30, 2021. The focal person SSBC, Lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan form the Department of Management Sciences in his opening remarks welcomed the guest speaker Ms. Natasha Latif, Alumni of CUI Wah Campus and Emerging Freelancer. In his address, Dr. Khan discussed the importance of Student Startup Business Centre (SSBC) its role of supporting the talented students toward initiating their start-up ventures. He motivated and encouraged the students to submit their projects/ideas to SSBC.

    The Guest Speaker, Ms. Natasha Latif shared her success story of being a successful in professional life as Emerging Freelancer after doing a lot of struggle having Master of Sciences in Management Sciences degree. She discussed in detail the hardships she faced in obtaining job but with three years consecutive attempts all her struggle got vain despite of having an exceptionally noteworthy resume. Ms. Natasha encouraged the students to find the alternatives paths of jobs such as entrepreneurial ventures and freelancing opportunities by utilizing the technological medium. She give guidance to students as she gained the necessary initial skills from e-Rozggar Centre at CUI Wah Campus to avail this opportunity.

    Ms. Natasha appreciated the efforts of the team of SSBC for organizing an effective seminar, which would potentially spark an interest into students to “Become their own Boss”. The students were very keen regarding the topic. They asked several questions that includes but not limited to how to start freelancing, skills and most importantly how to bid for any order on freelancing platform. The students were well engaged in the topic that they share their own experiences of failures and successes. Ms. Natasha ended her talk showcasing her project and describing how to create effective freelancing/outsourcing profile.

    In the end, appreciation certificates distributed among event organizers. Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan presented the CUI souvenir to the Guest Speaker with a vote of thanks.

    In his closing remarks, Dr. Khan once again encouraged the students to submit their projects/ideas to SSBC for a potential seed funding opportunity after they go through the evaluation process. Dr. Khan also discussed that in future, SSBC will continue its efforts in creating an entrepreneurial culture at CUI Wah Campus by arranging seminars, workshops and business competitions.
