The Student Startup Business Center (SSBC), CUI Wah Campus organized a seminar on “Entrepreneurship: opportunities and Challenges“ on MARCH 31st, 2022. On the behalf of SSBC Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan, Assistant Professor (Department of Management Sciences) and Focal Person SSBC, welcomed the Guest speaker Sajjad Naseer (Founder of Ecomist). In his opening remarks Dr. Khan encouraged the students to submit the projects/ideas to SSBC. Dr. Khan discussed that how SSBC aimed to support and motivate talented students towards initiating their start-up ventures.

The Guest Speaker shared the challenges he faced while setting up his own startup. Mr. Naseer motivated the students towards the entrepreneurial ventures more specifically online platforms where the students can connect with global marketplace. Mr. Naseer valued the efforts of team SSBC for arranging a well-organized seminar to motivate the students and hoped that these types of seminars will be arranged in future to encourage the students. At the end, he engaged the students to ask their failures and successes in practical life. A large number of students shared their views about their entrepreneurial activities. The students were very keen regarding the topic. They asked several questions that includes but not limited to how to start freelancing and do business on global platform such as Amazon. Mr. Sajjad Naseer ended his talk by explaining how the goal of a startup is to incorporate innovation with commercial viability.

In the end, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Khan presented the COMSATS University Islamabad Wah Campus souvenir to the Guest Speaker. While appreciating the efforts of SSBC’s student society, appointment letter were distributed among the society members.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Khan once again encouraged the students to submit their projects/ideas to SSBC. Dr. Khan also discussed that in future, SSBC will continue its efforts in creating an entrepreneurial culture at CUI Wah Campus by arranging seminars, workshops and business competitions.
