The Student Startup Business Center (SSBC) at CUI Wah Campus has launched with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and startup culture among students. The activities for Batch-1 commenced in March 2026. Due to the overwhelming response from students, the proposal submission deadline was extended twice.
A total of 38 startup proposals were received from different academic departments, distributed as follows:
• Computer Science Department: 21 proposals
• Management Sciences Department: 8 proposals
• Civil Engineering Department: 3 proposals
• Mechanical Engineering Department: 4 proposals
• Computer Engineering Department: 2 proposals
After the initial screening conducted by the SSBC Management Committee, 26 proposals were shortlisted for further evaluation. The department-wise shortlisted proposals are as follows:
• Computer Science Department: 14 proposals
• Management Sciences Department: 6 proposals
• Civil Engineering Department: 1 proposal
• Mechanical Engineering Department: 4 proposals
• Computer Engineering Department: 1 proposal
SSBC Batch-1 First Screening Interview Meeting at CUI Wah Campus: The Student Startup Business Center (SSBC), COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, has conducted first Campus Management Committee on May 20, 2026 with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship, innovation and startup culture among students.
The Campus Management Committee comprised distinguished professionals, academician and entrepreneurs , including Muhammad Raza Ahmad Khan, Head ORIC and Executive Director SSBC; Prof. Dr. Samina Nawab, Focal Person ORIC; Muhammad Mohsin Zahid, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Neuron Solutions; Atif Amin Rana, Director and CEO of Guava Slice Games Pvt. Ltd.; Atif Hussain Bhatti, Incharge Business Incubation Center (BIC); Mr. Saad Bin Riaz, Assistant Manager Business Incubation Center (BIC) and Ms. Asma Ilyas from SSBC-CUI Wah Campus.
15 Startup proposals were presented before the committee by the students from the 6th-8th semesters The students enthusiastically presented and demonstrated their startup business proposals before the committee members.
The committee thoroughly assessed each proposal and conducted expert review pitches and Q&A sessions with each group for the shortlist and enrollment of students into Batch 1 of the SSBC Program. CUI Wah Campus is always committed in fostering innovation, startup development and industry-oriented learning opportunities to aspire young entrepreneurs.
